Departing from La Ventana, Baja California Sur
GrayWhale Observation
See these majestic creatures up close in Magdalena Bay!
Join us for a day of whale watching in Magdalena Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most popular whale-watching destinations in the world.
We will depart from La Ventana in the morning and travel to Puerto Chale, where we'll board a boat and head out to sea. We'll spend 2-3 hours searching for whales, and we'll have the opportunity to see them up close as they breach, spy hop, and lobtail. You'll also learn about the biology and behaviour of these amazing creatures from our experienced guide. After our whale-watching tour, we'll return to Puerto Chale for lunch and then head back to La Ventana.
Magdalena Bay is a protected sanctuary for gray whales, and it's estimated that over 20,000 whales migrate to the bay each year to breed and give birth. The whales are incredibly curious and playful, and they often come right up to the boats.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see these majestic creatures up close in their natural habitat.
